Meetings
I went through some difficult situations in my life in which I tried to do something about it. I looked for solutions and help. However, there may be situations where the problem does not resolve itself. Then there is nothing left but to take courage and make decisions that will end something. For me, the process of coming to such a decision always takes a long time. I don’t give up easily, but to be honest, I’m not always that courageous, especially when I know I’m hurting others.
But what does courage mean? I think you are courageous when you dare to do something that is difficult. That you are willing to face a confrontation that may involve uncertainty. You are then brave and you show spirit.
Consequence
Difficult situations affect your outlook on life and on people. You may become disappointed, frustrated or even angry. I went through different phases in that, such as feeling distraught, desperate and even felt bitterness but none of those feelings were permanent. This was partly because I was lucky enough to meet people who were my role models. They lost much more than I did but did not become hardened.
Example
One of them is Anthony whose wife and 3 children were killed, just like that, by strangers.
In the country where he lives this is a regular occurrence. Imagine it’s happening to you. I would not have known how to continue living. Only this man had no choice but to go on because he was given the care of his youngest son of 6 and his 3 grandchildren who were even younger. Not only did he lose his loved ones but he was also unable to work which for him meant that he had a very difficult time financially. Eventually he managed to raise his son and grandchildren! To my dismay, not long ago, his small wooden house burned to the ground. I would have expected him to be distraught and give up by now. The opposite is true!
Optimism
The man I am talking about here trusts in God, is courageous and all mildness. When I met him, I was amazed that he could maintain such optimism. I think I have quite a bit of resilience myself and have been able to shake off unpleasant feelings. Anthony is confident and does not harbor feelings of revenge. On the contrary, he is hopeful and full of love for life! Just like me!
